Speed has had another solid year of growth and taking a stand on important issues, such as mental wellbeing.
The agency currently handles around $80 million in clients media billings, and provides services in media planning, strategy and buying as well as analytics. Almost all of its 19 clients work with Speed on a retainer.
Throughout the year the agency secured six accounts, taking its tally from 18 to 24. Joining the list in 2025 were Lounge Lovers, Xero, PetO, Unloan and Stacks Lawyers.
Speed also defended Archie Rose, the only time the band was called upon to defend an account.
The growth in accounts was reflected by the side of Speed. The agency grew its headcount by 15 per cent, a number the agency expects will continue to rise in 2026.
Speed left the ARIAs and the Golden Globes for other musicians, as band leader Ian Perrin and his agency have a policy not to enter awards.
The indie strongly advocates for the agency community to focus on metrics that measure “their clients’ business results”.
Leading from the front, Perrin is a leading figure in the industry in promoting mental wellbeing and talking about mental health.
At the beginning of 2025, Speed launched the Keep Talking project raise money for Lifeline whilst increasing awareness around suicide prevention.
B&T readers will be familiar with the editorial series of the same name that features prominent figures in the industry who speak about their own personal struggles. The editorial series has continued into 2026 and will continue to keep the industry talking about mental health.
Speed staff have spoken at a number of corporate events including Yahoo and Southern Cross Austereo and has been able to raise over $70,000.
Speed also keeps the environment in mind, actively measuring its waste, and is currently working to reduce its footprint through actions such as avoiding using programmatic platforms to buy advertising junk and selecting greener media partners.
