Arnold Schwarzenegger is the face of a brilliantly bonkers new British financial services ad. Well, to be more precise, an animatronic talking model of his head is.
The ad is for the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and urges people who have fallen victim to the country’s Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) saga that they only have two years left to make a claim.
Check out the oddball ad below which also includes an accompanying OOH campaign:

Britons had been sold insurance that they didn’t need or couldn’t claim against in the PPI and the regulators have ordered the money be paid back to those affected. So far £27 billion ($A44 billion) has been paid out in compensation with the major banks having set aside more than £37 billion ($A60 billion) for claims into the future.
And it appears much of that is going on the Schwarzenegger campaign. Some £24.4 million was used to buy advertising space in cinemas, billboards and on TV, while £4.9 million has gone towards talent fees and production costs and another £3 million went to creative agency M&C Saatchi which designed the ad.
