Following a period of strong client growth for Wavemaker Melbourne, the agency has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of Matt Hofmeyer (lead image) as client managing partner, responsible for managing the agency’s dedicated L’Oréal Media Team across Australia and New Zealand.
Hofmeyer is replacing Gabriela Stewart who has moved into a newly created role of client managing partner across a number of other Wavemaker clients, including Jetstar, Australia Post, DoorDash, Honda, Tata and IG Markets.
Homeyer is returning to Australia from his current role as Managing Director of Wavemaker Hong Kong. He was previously managing director of Wavemaker Adelaide, where he worked with many of the agency’s largest clients, including Mitsubishi and South Australian Government.
As part of the Wavemaker Melbourne senior leadership team, Hofmeyer will report to Melbourne managing director Daniel Isaac and Wavemaker ANZ CEO Peter Vogel. He is charged with leading the agency’s relationship and performance on the L’Oréal Australia and New Zealand account.
The expansion of Wavemaker Melbourne’s leadership team follows strong growth in the local market in 2022, including enormous growth in the L’Oréal business and expanding remits on many existing clients.
Isaac said: “It’s an exciting time at Wavemaker Melbourne and we’re delighted to welcome Matt to our team as Gabriela takes on additional responsibility across our growing client base. I’m pleased that we are able to continue to invest in senior resources to help manage our ongoing success and growth in the Melbourne market, and I’m confident that in these two leaders we have the expertise, passion and proven credentials to positively provoke growth for our clients in increasingly challenging times.”
Hofmeyer added: “It’s great to be back in Australia and to be joining the exceptional Wavemaker L’Oréal team, an amazing group of people who are delivering really exciting work and driving brand growth. L’Oréal is a global leader in digital transformation, online beauty experience and e-commerce, and I couldn’t be happier to help shape this next chapter of growth and results for the brand in the Australian market.”
Wavemaker has held the L’Oréal Australia and New Zealand media account for 18 months.
