GroupM’s newest media, content and technology agency, Wavemaker, has announced it has appointed Maria Poulton to the newly created role of general manager of its Brisbane office.
Poulton (pictured above, right) was most recently the business and operations director of Mindshare Japan, and has been part of the Mindshare family since 2004, spending nine years in Mindshare Sydney.
In addition, Poulton was vocal in supporting young talent in the industry, launching and co-chairing both NGen and MFA 5+.
Wavemaker Brisbane managing director Jane Sullivan (pictured above, left) said: “Maria is incredibly talented, hard-working and client-focused, and I am excited to welcome her to the team in this important role, particularly during this exciting chapter as we relaunch the business to Wavemaker.
“The past four years have been an incredible journey of growth for WM Brisbane, and our success is testament to an incredible group of passionate and talented people working in true partnership with our clients.”
Commenting on her new role, Poulton said: “I’m thrilled not only to be back in Australia, but to be joining Wavemaker during a period of positive growth.
“The agency has established itself as a key player within the Brisbane media scene, and I’m looking forward to working closely with Jane to help our clients achieve even greater results.”
