Virgin Australia has teamed up with The Precinct to launch its latest campaign that aims to appeal to the millions of Australians that miss the feeling of flying.

The campaign also aims to underpin Virgin Australia’s VA-X & Win competition, which is open to only those Aussies who have had the jab.

Australians who have played their part in keeping the community safe and re-opening the country will be able to enter VA-X & Win.

One of the major prizes will make one lucky Australian a Velocity Frequent Flyer Points millionaire.

As part of the competition, Virgin Australia will also open promotion for fully vaccinated employees who get the jab before 15 November 2021.

Incentives include a holiday to Hamilton Island, additional annual leave, Business Class flights and Lounge memberships.

Meanwhile, the campaign sfeatures two Virgin Australia passengers who unsuccessfully try to achieve the joys of travel from the comfort of their own homes using household furniture.

From a treadmill in place of an airport travelator, to a recliner chair to mimic the in-flight experience, the passengers quickly realise that nothing can replace the real flying feeling.

Time then quickly fast forwards and the passengers are finally reunited with their old lives and the real Virgin Australia flying experience once borders have re-opened.

Virgin Australia, group chief marketing officer, Libby Minogue said: “This campaign really captures the Virgin flair we are known for.

“It’s quirky and fun, and it taps into exactly how our passengers are feeling. We all can’t wait to experience the feeling of flying again.

“Virgin Australia understands the vital role vaccinations play in protecting the lives and livelihoods of all Australians and returning to the things we all love, including travelling.

“This campaign will motivate more people to roll up their sleeve and get the jab so we can be reunited with the freedoms we had in our pre-COVID lives.

The Precinct, creative director, Michelle Galluzzo, said: “While vaccination is a serious matter, we were excited by the opportunity to have some fun with this campaign while putting a smile on people’s faces at a time when they need it most.”

The videos will be housed on Virgin Australia social media channels before being aired on the 7 Network during the broadcast of the AFL Grand Final on 25 September 2021.
