Samsung has quietly removed an ad that teases Apple from its main YouTube channel, after revealing a major design change for its new Galaxy Note 10.
Many were outraged back in 2016 when Apple announced the then new iPhone 7 would not feature a headphone jack, ultimately paving the way for the company’s hugely successful AirPods.
The change meant owners of the new iPhone had to use a dongle to use their existing headphones.
Apple’s largest smartphone competitor Samsung was quick to point out how this change would impact users, launching its ‘Growing Up’ campaign in 2017 with independent US agency Wieden+Kennedy.
The ad highlighted the inconvenience of a longtime iPhone user being forced to use a pesky headphone dongle.
Now less than three years on and Samsung has revealed it too will be removing the headphone jack from its latest phone, forcing customers to embrace a $10 Samsung dongle and ultimately leaving the company with its foot in its mouth.
Business Insider revealed the ‘Growing Up’ campaign has now ben removed from the Samsung Mobile USA and the main Samsung YouTube channels.
However, the video can still be found online via the Samsung Malaysia YouTube channel.
