Fresh rumours are flying that Rove & Sam could be getting the chop from the breakfast roster, and replacing Hamish & Andy once their contract is up on the Southern Cross Austereo network.

After a rather disappointing 3.3 per cent audience share in the most recent radio ratings, in comparison with Kyle & Jackie O’s 9.9 per cent share, there’s talk of taking the duo and moving them to the drive time slot at some stage.

2DayFM have been particularly brutal with their breakfast show line-up following the departure of the now-KIIS1065 stars Kyle & Jackie O, as they try and secure stronger ratings that carry them through to the afternoon, and namely comedic duo Hamish & Andy.

But after Dan & Maz got the punt just nine months in after disappointing ratings, there’s plenty of speculation that a shake-up is coming. And who else could be rumoured to replace the brekkie pair than The Bachelor host and current Hit Network presenter Osher Gunsberg.

Reports from News Corp suggest Gunsberg and former Australian Idol contestant Em Rusciano could be the next pair to tackle the hotly contested breakfast slot, after the network recently brought Rusciano on for a Sunday night show.

But SCA has come back and flatly denied the rumours.

“We’re firmly committed to Rove & Sam as our 2DayFM 104.1 Sydney breakfast hosts – there are no and will be no changes to this line up.” an SCA spokeswoman said.
