Melanie Huggins (pictured) has been appointed as the chief strategy officer for Ogilvy Paris.
As chief strategy officer, Huggins joins the executive steering committee and will lead the agency’s strategic direction in France and Internationally.
The Franco-British, multi-awarded Strategist was formally educated in the UK and has spent most of her career in France, where she’s accumulated a track record in results-driven, strategic thinking that makes a creative impact at both a local and global level.
At Ogilvy Paris, she’ll lead a department of multi-disciplinary planners already in place from diverse backgrounds and build from there.
Huggins returns to Ogilvy Paris from WPP, where she was responsible for leading the strategy of some of Danone’s biggest brands, including Activia. Prior to that, she was the global strategic lead for Nespresso at McCann Worldgroup and creative and content excellence director at The Coca-Cola Company.
Her more than twenty-five years of experience includes prestigious global networks and agencies such as TBWA Paris and CLM BBDO. She’s helped to steer some of the world’s most iconic brands including British Airways, Pepsico, Nissan, Nespresso and Motorola — when she led the European strategic charge at Ogilvy Paris.
“Ogilvy Paris has always been one of the most international agencies in Paris and a jewel in the Ogilvy crown. The Ogilvy network is on fire, delivering borderless creativity at the heart of its offer, putting us in a strong position to manage both global and local brands. I want to establish the best, most diverse, multicultural planning department in France to ensure our clients make an impact- both in this market and around the world” said Huggins.
“Melanie’s experience made her hire a strategic weapon in our culminating arsenal of talent at Ogilvy Paris. French with an International outlook, Ogilvy Paris is driven to be the best agency in France to bring local brands global and global brands local” said Mathieu Plassard, CEO of Ogilvy.
