Nine’s Racy Love Island Promo Raises Eyebrows In Kid-Friendly Prime Time

Nine’s Racy Love Island Promo Raises Eyebrows In Kid-Friendly Prime Time

Viewers to Sunday’s episode of The Voice got a rather raunchy shock when host broadcaster Nine began airing promos for its new M-rated dating show Love Island.

The minute-long promo featured actual Love Island contestants in various states of undress, taking about infidelity, while another confessed her “fantasy man was one that came home sweaty and was ready for a throwdown”.

B&T has sought clarification from Nine on the “throwdown” comment, however, the network politely declined the opportunity. Check out the saucy promo below:

Yesterday, Twitter uses lambasted Nine for showing the promo during The Voice which attracts primarily families and children. Love Island will be shown on Nine’s catch-up channels 9GO! and 9Now due to the salacious nature of its content.

Comments to Twitter said the promo was not appropriate viewing for kids watching The Voice while others derided the coming dating show as “smutty” and “shallower than a pot hole puddle”. Others complained about the all-blonde, all-Anglo cast. Check out some of the social media rage below:
