An Australian by the name of Mackenzie Book has starred in Microsoft’s latest campaign and it’s safe to say his role has more to do with his name than his talent.
Sydneysider Mackenzie Book – a.k.a. Mac Book – features in the spot, which pegs Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 2 against its Apple competitor.

Book discusses how the Microsoft device compares with its Apple rival in terms of battery life, speed and touch screen (the MacBook doesn’t have a touch screen) in the clever clip.
And while it is a name that sounds too good to be true, according to Facebook Mackenzie is in fact a real person, currently studying at Macquarie University in Sydney.
Apple and Microsoft have a long history of going toe-to-toe with one another in their ad campaigns, a trend pioneered by Apple’s ‘Get a Mac’ campaign starring Justin Long and John Hodgman in the 2000s.
It appears Microsoft is after a bit of revenge in this latest ad.
Who knows if Apple will issue an equally witty response.
