Co-founder and managing director of Your Creative Lauren Crystal says her agency has been “born from diversity”.

The digital design and development firm prides itself on questioning everything and creating impact, values that saw it enter into the tech consumer space, publicly launching work collaboration tool Hassl in 2019.

Your Creative takes a “community-focused” approach to its work, with five per cent of all service work being pro bono.

For 2018-2019 this work has been offered to a range of start-up initiatives, including the design and development of web app shifra which connects thousands of refugee women in Australia with female health information in their native language through working with local asylum communities.

In November of last year, the project was selected by the Global Centre for Humanitarian Crises to receive seed funding to conduct a co-design research project with the LGBTQI refugee community living in Kenya.

As part of the project, Crystal  and her team went to Nairobi, Kenya for a five day co-design workshop with local LGBTQI representatives.

Not only has Crystal created her own business, she has also actively participated in the start-up community.

She is an ongoing contributor to several technology and entrepreneur magazines, and the youngest female writer for The Entrepreneur Magazine, sharing her research and first-hand experience on promoting inclusion within the start-up space.
