Sure, the film industry might be feeling the pinch of COVID-19, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop making movies.
That’s the message from Apple, which is currently showcasing the brilliant camera quality of its new iPhone 12 Pro in a new campaign.
The ad positions the new phone as a cinema-grade camera and shows various filmmakers getting creative shots using the iPhone.
Given the iPhone 12 Pro can shoot, edit and playback in Dolby Vision – a primary format for high dynamic range (HDR) content – the comparison to a film camera is reasonably fair.

The 60-second spot is directed by Australian film director Kim Gehrig, who also worked on Gillette’s 2019 ‘The Best Men Can Be’ campaign.
