Controversial breakfast radio host Kyle Sandilands has been given a reality check about his ballooning weight, having been turned away by two hospitals during his recent visit to London after suspecting he was having a heart attack.
Speaking on his KIIS FM show Kyle & Jackie O this morning, Sandilands revealed he called for an ambulance after suffering chest symptoms, but was sent home after arriving at a hospital that was dealing with dozens of victims from the Grenfell Tower fire.
“Hospital staff were running around crazy. And a woman shouted, ‘Get out, we’re closed!’” Sandilands explained.
“The ambulance guy said, ‘We have a chest pain patient here’, and she said, ‘No, we’re setting up for major trauma. You have to go to another hospital!’”
Sandilands claimed he was then taken via ambulance to another hospital, which also refused to have him.
The ambulance Sandilands was in was then called to the scene of the Grenfell Tower fire, forcing its attendant to offer the chubby radio host 10 pounds to make his way to a third hospital via taxi.
Instead, Sandilands said he decided to go home at watch TV on the couch, where he ended up falling asleep.
However, the KIIS FM host did finally decide to see a private doctor, who told him, “first thing you should do is throw those biscuits out”.
Sandilands also featured UK media personality Katie Hopkins on his show this morning, who gave her two cents on his hospital-hopping incident.
“I don’t want to be treating fat people like you in this country,” she said.
“Even our ambulance service told him he was just too fat. Could be politely remove himself from the building?”
For the record, Sandilands revealed in 2016 that he weighs a hefty 138 kilograms.
