The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has appointed J. Walter Thompson Sydney to lead and develop a new brand strategy for Smartraveller, the Department’s travel advisory and consular assistance service.

Paul Everson (main photo), managing director at JWT Sydney, said:  “We are thrilled to be leading the new brand strategy for Smartraveller and supporting the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s commitment to encouraging safe travel by Australians overseas.”

DFAT chose to work with J. Walter Thompson as a best-in class strategic partner to develop the new brand strategy for Smartraveller.

This was based on the agency’s approach to brand strategy, its rigorous process, and clearly understanding the importance of brands in today’s world. The work will commence immediately.
