French soccer ace Paul Pogba has removed a sponsor’s beer during a Euro 2020 press conference, Less than a day after Cristiano Ronaldo removed Coke bottles during his presser that sent shares in the soft drink manufacturer plummeting a staggering $5.2 billion.
Pogba, who plays for Manchester United in the EPL, is a practising Muslim and a non-drinker and removed a bottle of Heineken beer at the press conference following France’s 1-0 win over Germany.
Unfortunately for Heineken, it’s the official beer partner of Euro 2020.
The athlete wordlessly placed the beer out of view, offering no alternative drink suggestions. Although, in Heineken’s defence, the beer was from its 0.0 range which contains no alcohol.
However, unlike Ronaldo, Pagbo left the bottles of Coke on display.
This may have come as a relief to Coca-Cola after their stocks were only just stabilising again from Ronaldo’s stunt.

Pogba joined the Muslim faith later in life and according to The Standard Pobga has credited the religion for making him a more, “peaceful person.”
It’ll be interesting to see if this trend continues, particularly if you are one of the sponsors.
