Continuing with the recent spate of A-list Hollywood actors starring in slightly B-grade TV commercials comes the decidedly A-list Drew Barrymore’s appearance for US meat-free brand Quorn.
Called “Best friends”, the new spot sees the 46-year-old actor goof about with her best buddy “Chiqin”, a larger than life rooster who appears to be up for a good time.
Barrymore is a Quorn ambassador and has been vegetarian for the past decade, the spot finishing with the tag: “Because you wouldn’t eat your best friend!”
The minute-long spot is a collaboration between Barrymore, Quorn and director Dan Opsal, who’s best know for his work on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Commenting on the spot, Barrymore said: “This partnership is very personal for me. As a mum of two daughters, I know the importance of having affordable, easily accessible and delicious options that I feel good about serving my kids. I love this brand because the integrity of its mission truly motivates me and I’m honoured to be joining as chief mum officer.”
