TikTok user, @revengekkid has gone viral in recent weeks over his content series detailing the things he wish he’d known before he started working as an Amazon delivery driver.

In his first video, posted on 13 March, the young delivery driver outlines his main pet peeves working for the Bezos monolith, including the need to constantly jog to have packages delivered on time, having to sacrifice breaks in order to go home on time, and some delivery vans having broken air conditioning.

However, it was revengekkid’s second instalment in his series which caught the most online attention, having amassed 440.5k views and 35k likes since being uploaded on 14 March.

His first gripe is having to deliver to apartment buildings, and how the extensive space and lack of specificity in the customer’s address can often lead to longer hours.

“If you get an apartment during the day and you’ve got houses, it’s over. Don’t expect to get off early,” he says.

Secondly, he adds, “They say get done as fast as possible [which revengekkid says he does] and once you’re done you go home. But nah, I’m gonna have to go help somebody.”

His last pet peeve is group stops, which refers to multiple nearby houses being grouped as one stop, often leading delivery drivers to delivery more than they had originally expected.

“The group stops, I hate them. Gotta go,” he says.

Since going viral, revengekidd’s video series has attracted a healthy number of admirers, as well as a large number of commiserations for what appears to be a less-than-desirable working situation.

“Not the hero we wanted.. but the hero we needed,” commented one user.

“Worked there for 3 months and I would never recommend this job to anyone,” commented another user.

Meanwhile, one glaringly empathetic TikToker simply commented, “it’s called a union. makes the job a lot better.”

However, in a surprising turn of events, revengekkid yesterday posted a TikTok detailing three things he actually likes about working for Amazon, which include contractual hours and payments, the independence and lack of hassling by middle management, and paid time off.

Whether or not this most recent video is due to revengekisdd’s own creative freedom, or him having received a few stern words from Jeff Bezos is anyone’s guess.
