Six-time Helen Lambert medallist and superstar of the AFLW, Daisy Pearce, has joined Triple M’s AFL footy call.
Daisy called her first game on Saturday – Carlton v Gold Coast Suns – and will back this Sunday 23 April calling the Hawthorn v West Coast game from the MCG.
Growing up in country Victoria, Daisy was the only girl playing footy in her town in a football mad family and was drawn to the sense of community and camaraderie the game and club gave her. After giving up a career as a midwife to pursue professional football, Daisy is now the most recognisable face of the AFLW and an inspiration to young girls now flocking to the sport.
Daisy was part of the commentary team for Channel Seven’s inaugural broadcast of the AFLW and impressed with her razor sharp insights in to the game, reminding footy fans why she is so highly regarded on and off the field.
Triple M’s Head of Content Mike Fitzpatrick says “It’s fantastic to have a player of Daisy’s calibre join Triple M Football.”
Daisy added “I’m loving the opportunity to work alongside a well-established footy call team and be part of a station I grew up listening to. I will share my passion for the game and hopefully bring a different perspective to the mix. The Triple M broadcast always provides a good laugh as well as an insightful call and I’m excited to be part of it!”
Daisy joins a refreshed line up of legends recently out of the game, Chris Judd, Paul Roos and Simon Black alongside Triple M stalwarts including James Brayshaw, Luke Darcy, Wayne Carey, Brian Taylor and Dennis Cometti.
Triple M will Rock Footy across all 5 metro capital cities and 34 regional territories this year with Southern Cross Austereo’s regional rebrand complete, delivering the most entertaining and informative call in the game.
