Dairy Brand Roasted For Ad That Depicts Women As Cows To Be Milked

A South Korean dairy company is in serious strife for a new advert that bizarrely depicts women as cows waiting to be milked.

The company, Seoul Milk, first posted the ad on its YouTube channel on November 29, but following public outrage, the video was quickly pulled on December 8, The Korea Herald has reported.

The ad features a man with a camera secretly stalking a group of women in white doing yoga. When he startles the group they all turn into dairy cows and begin mooing. Watch the strangeness unfold below:

Naturally, social media users were not happy with the ad and not just women morphing into bovine, but the way the man secretly films the women which is apparently a huge problem in South Korea and is known as “molka”.

“Humans should never be described as cattle, and spy-camming can never be used as advertisement material,” one hater penned.

Another added: “How did this disgusting advertisement even get approved? Was no thought put into its planning and production?”

“Molka plus misogyny. Just amazing,” said another.

Seoul Milk has since pulled the spot and issued an apology.

A statement from the company read: “We sincerely apologise to everyone who felt uncomfortable with the milk commercial. We are accepting this matter with a heavy heart and will conduct an internal review, and take extra care to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. We bow our heads in apology.”
