The ICC Cricket World Cup is coming to England and Wales in mid-2019 and following its launch via an all-singing, all dancing debut earlier this month starring Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff (check it out here) organisers are back, this time playing for laughs.
British comic Chabuddy G (real name Asim Chaudhry) is the chief protagonist in a witty new series of ads promoting the tournament that kicks off in late May next year.
It’s the work of Ogilvy UK and sees the bumbling Chabuddy attempt to learn cricket’s nuances from fans, umpires and commentators alike in an ongoing series of social media posts.
It’s actually rather funny and, thankfully, doesn’t play on Australia’s recent cheating woes. Check out the fun spot below:
