Undoubtedly you’ve all seen Professor Brian Cox attempt to explain the wonders of the universe to us mere mortals via his BBC documentary series Wonders Of….
Not only is Cox is a professor of particle physics from the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester, he even more famously played keyboards in the boys bands Dare and D:ream back in the 80s and 90s.
The 53-year-old has been called the “David Attenborough of the universe” for his ability to parlay complex physics to a lay TV audience.
And now a magnificent roasting of the good looking prof has gone viral, not merely for its likeness but its hilarity.
The video is the work of Irish comedian Seán Burke who’s managed to capture Professor Cox and his science show simply by donning a black wig.
Check out the satire below – which has already clocked-up four million views on Twitter – although it may not make too much sense if you’ve never seen the goodly professor in action.

After sharing the video, Burke tweeted Cox saying: “If you see this, please know it comes from a place of love. I made it because I watch everything you do. Please don’t have me fired into the sun as some sort of groundbreaking BBC live broadcast.”
Thankfully, Cox saw the funny side, tweeting in response: “I’ve found someone to do all the long lens staring at the sky shots on top of mountains for the next series. Nobody will notice.”

And it appears Burke is developing quite the social media following. Check out his recent parody of bank adverts that may well be a little close to the bone for some.
