Helping to drive awareness of its upcoming reef conservation platform, The Great Reef Census, Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef has partnered with sustainability focused creative company Rethink Everything to promote its important reef protection work.
Designed as a 21st-century conservation organisation, Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef uses leading science, innovative technology and meaningful citizen action to drive significant conservation outcomes.
CEO of Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef, Andy Ridley, says: “We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Rethink Everything, particularly because co-founder Mike Spirkovski and I have a history working together on projects including the formation of Earth Hour. “The unique part of our upcoming platform is that we’ve designed citizens into the conservation model, instead of out of it. We are creating a platform that allows anyone, even if you don’t have an understanding of the reef, to take part, discover and ultimately have an impact on reef conservation.” The next-generation 2023 Great Reef Census platform will go live in April through a major national mobilization campaign inspiring citizens everywhere to participate in the real-time conservation of the Great Barrier Reef. Mike Spirkovski, managing partner and co-founder, Rethink Everything says: “We plan to mobilise hundreds of thousands of Australians and citizens all across the globe to join The Great Reef Census and prove there is something every single one of us can do to protect the reef. “We also need as much help and support as we can get, especially from our incredible creative industry. So let’s rethink how we make a difference and work together to have a greater impact on the future wellbeing of the Great Barrier Reef.”
