Art Vs Advertising on New York’s Subways

Earlier this month, two New York street artist took back one of the city’s subway carriages in a fight against advertising.

In the video of the incident (below), one of the artists says: “We’re not trying to sell you something, we’re just trying to tell you something.”

Technically, they kinda were trying to sell us something with the stunt a promotion for the artist’s upcoming exhibition.
