Updated: An internal review has seen Myer’s top marketing role expanded with Megan Foster moving to become managing director of the brand’s part-owned label, sass & bide.
A Myer spokesperson told B&T Foster moved on to her new sass & bide role early last week following an internal business efficiency review.
The review “identified the opportunity to bring together some parts of the business that you could say were part of our omni-channel approach to the customer” the spokesperson said.
The digital sales team, loyalty scheme ‘Myer one’, corporate services, events and online have been brought together with marketing.
Myer is currently looking internally and externally for a permanent head of the new role.
The spokesperson said Foster’s departure from the marketing role will “not at all” affect Myer’s current creative account review.
“It will take some time to bring all of those functions together so they are continuing to operate as per normal.”
Myer announced it was putting its creative account to tender earlier in August with incumbent Badjar Ogilvy put on notice.
On August 7 the retailer drew to a close a race for its media account with incumbent Ikon retaining the $50m account.
Myer’s spokesperson said the internal efficiency review has not resulted in any redundancies or job losses.
“Importantly the sass & bide business also continues to operate as it did before with autonomy from the Myer business.”
