SCA CMO, Nikki Clarkson, has today announced the appointment of Lucia Elliott as new national trade marketing director.

Elliott (main photo), who is currently marketing director of the Boomtown collective, will also join the Boomtown Steering Committee as part of her new role.

In addition, Megan Parkes has been promoted to national trade marketing manager.

Parkes is currently trade marketing manager for NSW, and in the new role will work closely with Elliott, retain her NSW trade and client engagement activities, and lead the state-based trade marketing managers.

Elliott joined the Boomtown regional media collective to lead marketing and has overseen several successful initiatives.

These include the national launch of the education Masterclasses, which have seen almost 500 participants from the media industry, and the launch of the Boomtown Hub for media planners which has achieved more than 4500 new users in under a year.

In the new role, Elliott will be charged with driving awareness and understanding of SCA’s total media portfolio, including SCA’s digital transformation, among client and media agencies nationally.

Elliott brings her considerable strategic and creative expertise to the trade remit leveraging her 20+ years’ experience working in marketing and creative agencies, including McCann-Erickson, Mojo, George Patterson Partners and The Campaign Palace.

Last year, Elliott graduated from AWARD School, and she has also run her own marketing consultancy for several years working successfully with many high-profile Australian brands.

Parkes has been with SCA for five years working in client engagement and trade marketing roles and will bring an in-depth understanding of SCA’s sales priorities and client needs.

Prior to SCA, Parkes worked in marketing and events and fashion PR for several years.

“As SCA leverages its digital transformation with LiSTNR and our radio and TV brands across Australia continue to engage audiences at scale, the national trade marketing director role is critical,” said Clarkson.

“In her role leading Boomtown, Lucia has demonstrated strong strategic and creative skills with many achievements, and we are excited for her to join our SCA Marketing team.

“Megan is already a valuable member of the trade marketing team and has proven her ability to deliver exceptional outcomes. Both Lucia and Megan will add a great degree of strength to SCA’s trade marketing.”

Commenting on her new role, Elliott said, “Creative effectiveness is central to audience engagement, distinctiveness and business growth and has never been more important in trade marketing.

“It’s a really exciting time to be part of audio’s transformation. SCA is committed to technology that not only delivers more invested consumers, it enables SCA to better understand its audiences as well.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the evolution and the fact that I can continue to champion Boomtown, a brand that’s near and dear to my heart, is a win-win, and I can’t wait to get stuck in!”

Elliott’s and Parkes’ appointments are effective from Monday, 7 February 2022.
