To help Australians spend less in the lead-up to Christmas, Woolworths has lowered the price of its half-leg ham to $8/kg, which is the lowest price on ham for the Christmas table in nine years.

The product, which won the 2022 Canstar Blue award for best Christmas ham, will start to arrive in stores from today, and the offer will be available until sold out.

“We know that value is more important than ever this year,” said Woolworths Supermarkets managing director Natalie Davis.

“Ham is the centrepiece of the Christmas table for many Australian families, so we’re excited to lower the price of our award-winning half-leg ham to $8 per kilo, which is our lowest price for Christmas since 2014, to help budgets go further this year”.

“As well as our half-leg ham, our Christmas range of hams includes a variety of sizes and flavours to cater to all types of entertaining occasions, levels of cooking skills and budgets. From our Gold Slice Ham off the Bone through to our Crackling Leg Ham, we’re confident we’ve got a ham for every occasion and budget”.

“Importantly, we know that preparing food can be time-consuming, which is why we developed our range with convenience in mind. We’ve done the work to make sure the range is easy to cook, or heat up and carve”.

This year, Woolworths’ Christmas ham range includes 17 varieties, including four new products:

  • Woolworths Easy Carve Double Smoked Shoulder Ham ($11/kg)
  • Smoked Ham Portion ($28/kg)
  • Gold Triple Smoked Ham Joint ($28/kg)
  • Gold Sliced Smoked Ham Off the Bone ($12/kg)

Within the range, there are a number of specially designed hams to make carving quick and easy this year, so customers can spend less time prepping and more time with family and friends during the festivities.

Woolworths products such as the Double Smoked Half Leg Ham and Free Range Gold Triple smoked portions are expected to be popular picks this year, alongside the Woolworths Half Leg Ham.

In the lead up to Christmas, Woolworths expects to sell more than one million ham portions across its range.

Christmas hams will start landing in stores from this week, with the full range becoming available over the coming weeks.
