The VOZ numbers for week 38 are in and, as expected, The Voice‘s grand final and winner’s announcement were triumphant.

The winner’s announcement was technically number one with a total combined linear and BVOD audience of 2, 419,000 viewers: 2,223,000 on linear and 196,000 on BVOD. That means 92 per cent of the viewership was via linear TV, compared to 8 per cent on BVOD.

In second was the rest of the grand final, with a combined audience of 2,181,000: on linear, that meant 1,099,000 national viewers and 83,000 BVOD viewers. Like the winner’s announcement, the bulk of the viewership was via linear TV, at 96 per cent, while BVOD made up 4 per cent.

Third was a Sunday ep of Nine News which had a combined viewership of 1,850,000: 1,795,000 on linear and 55,000 on BVOD, with a 97 per cent linear and 3 per cent BVOD contribution split.

The program with the highest contribution of BVOD was a Tuesday episode of SAS Australia at 15 per cent. It’s combined audience was 1,334,000 viewers: 1,138,000 on linear and 196,000 on BVOD.

In the 25-54 demographic, The Voice’s winner announcement also performed well – but not well enough to beat The Block on Sunday. The Block‘s combined viewership was 838,000: 718,000 on linear and 120,000 on BVOD. Linear contributed 86 per cent, while BVOD contributed 14 per cent.

The Voice‘s winner announcement has the same contribution ratio; 86:14, but the total audience for the demographic was 817,000, with linear viewership at 704,000 and BVOD viewership at 113,000.

In third was Monday’s The Block with a total audience of 794,000, with the total linear audience coming in at 668,000 and the total BVOD audience at 126,000: an 84 per cent contribution by linear TV and a 16 per cent contribution by BVOD.

Like in the total people category, for the 25-54 demographic, SAS Australia on Tuesday had the highest contribution of BVOD at 19 per cent, or 120,000 viewers. There were 508,000 linear viewers, bringing the combined total to 628,000.
