The ABC’s Wednesday night of comedy continues to give the free-to-airs a headache with Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell managing to beat Ten’s The Bachelor according to overnight OzTam metro numbers.

Mad As Hell managed 722,000 over The Bachelor’s 715,000. However, it was Nine’s The Block who again had the entertainment bragging rights, pulling just shy of a million with 982,000.

The ABC’s comedy line-up of Mad As Hell , Utopia (674,000) and Hard Quiz (601,000) saw the public broadcaster snare 17.5 per cent of all audience numbers for Wednesday.

However, it wasn’t enough to pip Ten who still pulled a valiant third with 18.7 per cent. Nine again won the night with 30.6 per cent and Seven managed 25.7 per cent. The SBS had 7.5 per cent.

Seven’s news was the most watched program of the night with 1.04 million viewers, while Home And Away (761,000), The Force – Behind The Line (723,000) and Border Security (723,00) were the pick for the network.

Over at Nine its 6pm news pulled 990,000 and Britain’s Got Talent managed 566,000.

The Bachelor was the most watched show for Ten, followed by Offspring (559,000) and The Project (559,000).
