Walt Disney recently dropped a tweet to celebrate Pirates Of The Caribbean, but the comment section was taken over by unhappy Johnny Depp fans.
Depp was famously not asked back to be in the upcoming Pirates film. Currently, his personal life is eclipsing his career and he has been embroiled in a defamation case between him and his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Naturally, the show must go on and Walt Disney is moving the Pirates franchise in a different direction.
The company dropped a fairly innocent tweet that read: “Aye, matey! Climb aboard this classic during the 50th Anniversary celebration. Yer pirate name = Captain + sea + yer fave animal. Drop yers below!”
But the post was flooded with Depp fans calling out Walt Disney for not asking Depp back.
Sorry Disney…. You screwed up. There is no Pirates of the Caribbean without Jack Sparrow. No Jack Sparrow without Johnny….. pic.twitter.com/C0ZbmdYS9a

Really, trying to cash in while you dropped Johnny like a hot potato. You should be ashamed, he made that character, not the director, not the script writers, Johnny himself. I bet you didn’t mind taking the money he was pulling in???

"Pirates is Johnny Depp and Johnny Depp is Pirates". We will never forgive you @DisneyStudios for taking that away from us.

Johnny Depp/ Captain Jack Sparrow is pirates of the Caribbean. It’s nothing without Johnny/Jack. If only you had supported the survivor of DV. #NoJohnnyNoPirates #JusticeForJohnnyDepp

Clearly, Johnny Depp fans really are ride or die.
