The cover is part of a global Vogue initiative to symbolise new beginnings. Vogue September issues all around the world, will be celebrating what new beginnings means to them.

The September issue has long been dubbed the magazines most important yearly issue, with September signifying a new season and a chance for Vogue to forecast the next trends and set the path of style for the rest of the year.

Edwina McCann, editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia, said: “I have never been more proud than I am of this cover: a beautiful woman and her baby girl before an Australian sunrise.

“So raw and so stunning, full of meaning, and pointing to new beginnings, which are calling us all.”
