As Val Morgan Group continues to build out its Responsible Business Framework, the Val Morgan Digital business has launched Ready, Steady, Offset, a new initiative to test and learn best-practice in sustainable digital advertising.
Through a partnership with Carbon Positive Australia, a charity that has restored degraded lands through ecologically sensitive planting for the last 20 years, advertisers on The Latch will have their campaign impressions offset through the planting of trees among several upcoming regeneration initiatives.
Catherine Patterson from Carbon Positive Australia said, “To date we have restored over 5,000 hectares, planted over 6 million trees, and captured 668,799 tonnes of carbon, collaborating with landholders, communities, and environmental organisations –and we’re so pleased to now have Val Morgan Digital come on board as a tree-planting partner to offset the campaign ad impression across The Latch.”
Amanda Bardas, publisher, Val Morgan Digital added, “This is just the start of our sustainability journey. We’re in phase one and know we have work to do to achieve our goal, which is to become carbon positive. As we determine what each phase looks like as a group, The Latch will aim to plant 1000 trees by the end of 2022 which equates to 21,000 kilos of CO2absorbed, and this is just the beginning for the Val Morgan Digital team.”
Ready, Steady, Offset is an important evolution of The Latch’s Sustainability vertical and the publisher’s commitment to walking the walk when it comes to climate impact. Ready, Steady, Offset, will kick off in partnership with Suncorp Bank, the official launch partner of the Sustainability vertical.
Launching this month, Suncorp Bank is also the partner of BuyGood, a newly launched e-commerce discovery platform that helps The Latch readers find and purchase more sustainable items in their day-to-day life.
