Sydney ABC news editor Riley Stuart has angered hoards of South Australians after he quipped NSW residents “may die of boredom” if they travel to Adelaide.
It follows the news border restrictions between the two states have no been lifted.
Stuart cracked the joke on Twitter under a #BREAKING tag, and was subsequently labelled a “dill”, “desperately unfunny” and “the ultimate Ultimo wanker”.

ABC Adelaide radio host Matthew Abraham said Stuart’s tweet showed a ‘Sydney and Melbourne-centric attitude’ that permeates the ABC.
“It reflects the entrenched superior Sydney mindset of the ABC, which I observed inside the tent for years,” Abraham said. “We used to get sneered at and looked down on all the time.”
Abraham made the comments in his new FiveAA breakfast show, where Stuart was labelled an “Ultimo wanker”.
