Two Aussies Crack Global List Of 30 Most Creative People In Advertising Under 30

Business Insider has unveiled its ’30 most creative people in advertising under 30′ with two Aussies cracking this year’s global list. However, no Aussie agencies or Aussie-based creatives managed to snare a spot.

You can check out the full list here.

The two Aussies named were Laura Petruccelli, 26, and Rohan Cooke, 27 (pictured above) who are associate creative directors for Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, part of the Omnicom Group. The pair ranked an impressive fourth and fifth on this year’s list.

The duo met and worked together at the Grey Group in Melbourne in 2011 before relocating to the States in late 2014.

According to Business Insider its annual list is compiled “based on agency and peer nominations, our own research into their awards and campaigns, and their seniority and potential to flourish in the industry.”

It said that Petruccelli and Cooke had been nominated based on their “Unacceptable Letters” campaign from April last year. The campaign aimed to show that one in five women are sexually assaulted on college campus in the US and the campaign told stories in print and film about sexual violence in the form of “acceptance letters,” as if the stories were coming from the college itself.

The duo also created what they called the world’s first product designed for Instagram: a square milkshake designed for the app’s square format. The shakes, for Sonic Drive-in, were sold at the rock festival Coachella through Instagram.

Both the campaigns had been recognised globally including Cannes Lions.

The pair has also been included in Adweek’s Most Creative People in Advertising and the San Francisco Egotist’s 32 under 32. In November, both the 3% Conference and the One Show named Petruccelli one of its top 10 Next Creative Leaders.
