The Block did the numbers last night, ranking in first place among the non-news programs with a total TV national reach of 1,760,000 and a national average audience of 1,062,000 for Nine.
It’s Backyard Week, and while Ricky and Haydn are pulling double duty as both contestants and landscapers, Kristian and Mimi are kicking back (well, sort of) as their landscaper, Troy, goes rogue. Troy’s boundary-pushing antics have become quite the talk of the town – he’s even earned himself a scolding from site manager Simmo, who’s now wondering if this is The Troy Show.
Meanwhile, down at House 4, Brad is juggling deliveries like a circus act, and it all starts when he demands Courtney and Grant move their pizza oven delivery van. Grant, ever the gentleman, suggests a “please” might be in order. Tensions are rising faster than concrete dries.
Just in time, Shelley Craft swoops in with biscuits – because who doesn’t need a carb-loaded hug during Backyard Week? (not to mention a subtle Arnotts plug). And in true Shelley style, she comes with a challenge: guess the depreciation of their homes, with the chance to win the grand prize of $7,895.10. Maddy and Charlotte are on high alert; spreadsheets are flying, calculators are humming. But in the end, it’s Kylie and Brad who win the cash with the least effort. Kylie laughs, “Probably the easiest challenge we’ve ever won!”
Not all is smooth sailing, though – Kylie and Brad’s landscaper has failed to order plants, which leaves Kylie scrambling to find a nursery that doesn’t laugh in her face for such a last-minute request. Classic Block drama.
Elsewhere, Ricky and Haydn proudly unveil their DIY swing set and snag a $5k bonus from Scotty. Over at House 1, Maddy and Charlotte install a spiral staircase that gives their mezzanine guest retreat the finishing touch.

But just as Kylie and Brad start to celebrate, disaster strikes – the wrong concrete arrives, and yes – it’s as bad as it sounds.
