A TV reporter reporting on “one of the dangerous streets in all of Los Angeles” has proven that life does indeed imitate art after his report was, you guessed it, interrupted by a serious hit and run accident in the background.
Gene Kang was reporting for broadcaster KTLA at the intersection of Hoover and 84th streets in South Los Angeles when the incident occurred.
Kang was there to report on an earlier hit-and-run accident that killed 42-year-old local resident Jemmy Chavaria. The police has since announced a $US50,000 reward for anyone with information relating to the crash and subsequent death.
In the footage, Kang can be heard saying “What the f@ck” as the accident occurs behind him.
He later tweeted, calling the accident a “crazy crash” as the driver at fault does a runner, presumably unaware it was all caught on film and he’d lost a number plate! Check out the mayhem below.
