Triton Podcast Ranker: Casefile & iHeartPodcast Retain Top Spots In January 2022

Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime has once again secured its place as podcasting head honcho,  claiming top spot for the fourth month running on Triton Digital’s Australian Podcast Ranker for January 2022.

The long-running whodunnit program notched 652,368 monthly listeners and 1,975,681 monthly downloads.

Despite another slight dip from the previous month’s numbers, it was enough for Casefile to beat runner-up, Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne, which steamrolled into second place from last month’s fourth place, with 428,964 monthly listeners and 1,320,289 monthly downloads.

NOVA Entertainment’s The Update once again took out bronze, with 424,087 monthly listeners and 911,885 monthly downloads, edging out LiSTNR’s Hamish & Andy which saw a considerable drop in monthly listenership to 384,812, and 1,022,278 monthly downloads.

The Kyle & Jackie O Show bounced back slightly from last month’s seventh place to sixth, just under iHeartPodcast’s Stuff You Should Know, which also went up a spot to fifth.

There was once again little change for the top ten publishers ranking in January 2022.

ARN/iHeartPodcast once again retained its top spot with 3,166,342 monthly listeners and a whopping 15,402,148 monthly downloads.

The publisher maintained top of the podium ahead of Stitcher – which surprisingly jumped two places to second – and Audioboom, which retained its third place from December last year.

“While the January holidays typically shifts listener routines and show productions, iHeartPodcast continues to draw in audiences, and we’re pleased to not only retain the position of number one podcast network but to see our reach continue to grow,” said ARN’s head of digital audio, Corey Leyton.

“With such a broad and diverse slate of content, there is something for all audiences, with advertisers able to engage in whatever topic is gaining traction.”

“As we approach our second birthday, we have lots of surprises in store, along with some industry leading research that we know our clients will love.”
