It’s that time of year when you start shortlisting your fave tracks of 2019 because voting for triple j’s Hottest 100 countdown kicks off next week!

The Hottest 100 is your chance to have a say on the hottest songs of the year. You vote, then we put them in numerical order according to popularity and play them at the biggest party of the year – with millions of people tuning in from beaches, BBQ’s and house parties all around Australia and the world.

To vote, head to the triple j website between Mon 16 Dec and Mon 20 Jan. On Saturday 25 January we’ll be counting down the Hottest 100 songs of the year, as voted by you. Then on the public holiday Monday 27 January we’ll back it up with the songs that just missed out, the Hottest 200.

This year the Hottest 100 is proud to partner with Greening Australia. The triple j audience told us that climate change is the number one most important issue facing them. So, after teaming up with Lifeline and AIME in recent years, we’re now getting behind Greening Australia who run tree-planting projects across the country to restore natural environments, cool our cities, save endangered animals and pull carbon out of the atmosphere.

If you agree that the only things that should be getting hotter are the songs in the countdown, chip in a donation and help Greening Australia plant trees to have these positive environmental impacts:

  • $30 will pull half a tonne of carbon out of the atmosphere, which is equivalent to the production of 1,000 tinnies
  • $50 will pull a tonne of carbon from the atmosphere, equivalent to the production and lifecycle of 14 iPhones
  • $125 will store the carbon equivalent of the average Australian’s annual car use
  • $300 will store enough carbon to reduce the footprint of your return flight to Europe!

Plus for donations of $30 or more you’ll get the first ever Hottest 100 temporary tattoo pack. Slap ‘em on your face, arm or butt to show your support on Sat 25 Jan as we count down the hottest songs of the year.
