An Ecuadorian TV reporter has become the news after he and his crew were robbed a gunpoint while filming a story.

DirecTV journalist Diego Ordinola was filming a segment outside of the Isidro Romero Carbo Monumental Stadium in Guayaquil – home of the Barcelona Soccer Club.

The group were quickly pounced on by a man in a cap and face mask wielding a handgun in their direction.

The robber apparently demanded wallets and phones, before the cameraman obliges and hands over his smartphone.

To his credit, the cameraman continues filming the bandit’s getaway and he can be seen making his escape on a motorbike driven by another man.

Ordinola – who, it must be said, remained remarkably calm throughout – uploaded the footage to Twitter alongside the statement: “We can’t even work quietly, this happened at 1pm outside the Monumental Stadium. The @PoliceEcuador promised to find these criminals.”

Apparently, the motorbike’s numberplate can be seen in the footage and has since been given to the local police.

Check out the gun totin’ action below:
