Ten’s Russel Howcroft Resigns As Executive GM

Network Ten has announced that Russel Howcroft has resigned from his role as executive general manager.

Ten said in a statement that Howcroft will leave the company in February next year, more than four years after he joined the network in his current role.

It has been revealed that Howcroft will join consulting giant PwC in the newly-created role of chief creative officer.

Ten CEO Paul Anderson said the network was saddened by Howcroft’s decision to resign.

“He has made an important and valuable contribution to Ten, both in Melbourne and across the network,” Anderson said.

“As part of the executive leadership team, he played a key role in developing and executing the strategy that has led to Ten’s ratings and revenue revival.

Anderson noted that Howcroft was one of the driving forces behind ThinkTV (which he currently chairs), the marketing and research group set up earlier this set up earlier this year to promote TV’s scale and effectiveness for advertisers.

“Russel brought great commitment and passion to his role at Ten. He leaves with our sincere thanks and our very best wishes for his future endeavours,” Anderson said.

Commenting on his resignation, Howcroft said the whole team at Ten has made his time at the network “highly enjoyable”.

“We have had some great wins over the past four years, and I am sure there will be more success stories from Ten in the coming months and years,” he said.
