Iconic Australian brand Vegemite has renewed its contract with tennis world number one Ashleigh Barty, marking the moment with a fun competition.
As part of the partnership, Ash Barty will again wear a Vegemite brand patch on her match top in Australia, ahead of the beginning of the Australian summer of tennis.
To demonstrate support for Barty during her summer tennis campaign, Vegemite is calling on Barty fans to “raise a Vegemite toast to Ash”, giving fans a chance to win a 1-1 virtual hangout with the tennis ace for them and a mate.
“Vegemite is Mitey proud to renew its official support of Ash Barty, with the sponsorship now in its fourth consecutive year,” Vegemite marketing manager Jacqui Roth said.
“Ash is an extraordinary ambassador, loved by Australians, and Vegemite looks forward to fuelling her on and off the court.”
Barty said she couldn’t be happier to continue to work with Vegemite, saying, “it’s my reminder of Australia no matter where I might be”.
“I love wearing the Vegemite patch on my playing top and feel very special being part of the Vegemite family,” Barty said. “They have been part of my journey for four years now and a huge support to me.”
For fans eager to meet Barty, Vegemite has announced the #ToastToAshBarty competition.
“Vegemite is calling on you to put your Vegemite Squeezy to toast and craft a message of support to our homegrown hero, Ash Barty,” Roth said. “By doing so, you’ll be in with a chance to win a much coveted 1-1 virtual hangout with the tennis ace for you and a mate.
“We can’t wait to see Aussies come together to raise a toast to Ash Barty.”
For inspiration, Barty has drawn her own Vegemite toast creation, fittingly—a tennis ball.
Barty added: “I can’t wait to read your messages of support, and to see all of the VEGEMITE Squeezy toast artists out there!”
