Network Ten has rubbished claims that it is set to run the ruler through a number of its locally-produced programs as part of a five-year, multimillion dollar cost-cutting strategy.

According to a report obtained by The Daily Telegraph, Ten is contemplating a strategy whereby Bondi Rescue, Shark Tank and The Biggest Loser would be canned, and coverage of the Formula 1 and V8 Supercars events would be no more.

The Daily Tele also claims that Family Feud and every single news bulletin will be filmed at Ten’s Sydney HQ, and the network will cut jobs by 15 per cent.

The five-year strategy came together in July when Ten’s fortunes took a turn for the worse.

However, a statement issued by Ten to B&T said the claims were “highly speculative and inaccurate”.

“The speculation about F1 and Supercars is just plain wrong. We’ve already said The Biggest Loser will not be returning to Ten any time soon, Shark Tank will continue, and Studio 10 was extended by an hour in late July,” it said.

“The document referred to in today’s media was part of a number of options that had been prepared on behalf of the Ten board prior to the appointment of administrators. At the time, Ten Network was exploring all options for improving its financial position.

“The financial environment for Ten has changed significantly since June, with CBS chosen by creditors as the new owner. CBS’s bid includes the retention of all employees.”
