Stan has announced it is partnering with acclaimed Australian production company Roadshow Rough Diamond on a range of new Stan Original projects.

The partnership announcement comes as Stan continues to increase its investment into Australian television and film. The strategy will see Stan ramp up to deliver around 30 per cent of its first-run slate from original productions.

Founded by Australian producers Dan and John Edwards and Roadshow Films, Roadshow Rough Diamond’s partnership with Stan will see brand new seasons of the record-breaking Stan Original Series Bump coming soon, with season two currently in production in Sydney.

Claudia Karvan returns to star in the new season and will co-produce, alongside Dan and John Edwards. Stars Nathalie Morris, Carlos Sanson Jnr and Angus Sampson are also set to return, alongside the series’ stellar supporting cast.

Following the series’ unprecedented success with audiences and critics alike, Bump Season 3 will begin production in 2022.

Stan and Roadshow Rough Diamond are also partnering on other Stan Original projects, including Year Of and Ironside. Year Of is a multi-generational drama spin-off from the highly successful Stan Original Series Bump. Ironside is a criminal drama inspired by the true story of the AFP’s use of the encrypted ANOM app to track and trap criminals.

Stan acting chief executive officer Martin Kugeler said: “Partnering with the biggest producers from Australia and around the world to deliver high calibre homegrown projects is core to Stan’s original content strategy.’

“Today’s announcement with Roadshow Rough Diamond reflects Stan’s commitment to investing in local production. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Roadshow Rough Diamond’s Dan and John Edwards on these new Stan Original projects.”

Screen Australia head of content Sally Caplan said: “Not only has Bump proven enormously popular with viewers on Stan with its relatable characters and entertaining scripts, it also continues to provide great opportunities for emerging creatives to further their careers. We’re very proud to continue to support the talented team at Roadshow Rough Diamond to bring Seasons 2 and 3 to life together, and I look forward to seeing what’s in store for Oly, Santi and their families.”

Roadshow Rough Diamond co-founders Dan and John Edwards said: “Stan has proven to be a perfect creative partner on both Bump and Romper Stomper. We’re thrilled to extend the relationship with Year Of and Ironside. This comes as Rough Diamond is at the beginning of an expansion phase as we bring creative producing partners under our umbrella.”
