Curious to discover the soundtrack to couples’ most intimate moments, lingerie brand Pour Moi has analysed Spotify playlist data to reveal the songs and artists that are most listened to whilst getting it on.
The study involved analysing over 300,000 songs from playlists such as ‘date night’, ‘getting it on’, ‘sex playlist’ and ‘Netflix and chill’, the data shows that it’s ‘All The Time’ by Jeremih that’s the most popular song for couples getting down and dirty. The song, released in 2013 and featuring Lil Wayne and Natasha Mosley, is slow, sultry and explicit – so it’s perhaps not surprising that it takes the top spot.
Although another of Jeremih’s tracks (‘Birthday Sex’) also featured in the top ten, the most featured artist is The Weekend – with half the top ten being made up of his hits.
The majority of the songs are from the 2010s, with ‘Birthday Sex’ by Jeremih and ‘Neighbours Know My Name’ by Trey Songz released in the late 00s and ‘Pony’ by Ginuwine the only track from the 90s to feature.

The most common artist was found to be The Weeknd. Songs by the Canadian singer and producer are nearly twice as likely to appear on a sexy playlist than Trey Songz who places next on the list. R&B artists dominate the list and it seems couples prefer male tones whilst they are getting it on, Rihanna and Beyoncé are the only female singers to make it on the top ten.

To reflect the fact that many couples have also been separated in recent months due to lockdown, the research also delved into the top songs and artists for those satisfying themselves on their own.
Of over 20,000 songs from playlists named ‘touching myself’, ‘solo sex’ and ‘masturbation playlist’ were analysed. Naughty 90s hit ‘I Touch Myself’ by Divinyls took top spot, with other cheeky titles including Rihanna’s ‘Sex With Me’, Hailee Steinfeld’s ‘Love Myself’, a-ha’s ‘Take On Me’ and Nicki Minaj’s ‘Feeling Myself’ all indicating the pleasurable pastime they’re sound tracking. Once again, The Weeknd features heavily, taking three spots in our top 10.
