Sportswear Brand New Balance Goes Retro In Fun Take On Fitness

Most sportswear ads follow a fairly similar trope – good looking model/athlete, plenty of sweaty flesh and a tedious “dream/believe” catchphrase.

So hats off to New Balance for its new campaign that appeals to the exercise apathetic in all of us.

Called “Every Runner Has A Reason” the campaign includes a print/poster campaign and an as yet unreleased TVC and is the work of London agency Generation Works.

The poster campaign comes with a real retro feel reminiscent of 80s magazines and extols the idea that taking the bins out or walking the dog in your New Balances could be the first step to running a marathon.

The brand has also teamed-up with fitness app Strava and is offering anyone that can prove they ran 30 kilometres between January 17 and February 13 will get 10 per cent off their next shoe purchase and a chance to run in the London Marathon in October.
