Society Announces Two New Appointments Following Recent Growth

Creative communications agency, Society has announced two new appointments across its Sydney and Adelaide offices.

The integrated agency has added a new account manager to Adelaide and a consultant to its Sydney team, continuing the company’s trend of significant growth over the past two years.

Joining the Adelaide team as marketing communications manager, is Hannah Blackiston, who comes to Society from her previous appointment as account director at boutique PR agency Media & Capital Partners in Sydney.

Prior to moving into PR, Blackiston (featured image, left) was the former acting editor of Mumbrella. She also brings significant insight in finance and investor reporting after 10 years of experience in roles as a journalist for Nine, a business producer at Sky News and a production editor at Bauer Media,

“It’s fantastic to have someone like Hannah with such strong media and content experience join our team,” said Dena Vassallo, CEO and founder of Society.

The Sydney office also welcomes Lucy Brewer (right) as a new marketing communications consultant.

With more than four years’ experience in media, marketing and communications industries, Brewer joins Society following her most recent position as digital communications officer at the University of Adelaide.

She has also worked as a freelance journalist, with experience spanning digital engagement, strategic communications, social media strategy, and content creation.

Brewer will now relocate for the role as part of the company’s flexible working policy.

“I’m excited to welcome both Lucy and Hannah to the Society family,” said Vassallo.

“Both are communications specialists with impressive publishing and media experience behind them, and I look forward to the opportunities they’ll bring to our clients in 2022 and beyond.

“I’m also delighted to see opportunities across state borders, with Hannah relocating to Adelaide from Sydney to take up this role, and Lucy heading to Sydney. We hope to see more of this, and welcome those who want to join us in either office.”
