Seven Supremo James Warburton Takes Massive Haircut, But Still Banks $3.4M For 2021-22

Following on from its gleaming end-of-years yesterday (read them HERE), Seven West Media’s annual report has revealed the salaries of the media company’s top earning executives.

Company MD and CEO, James Warburton (lead image), was the biggest earner, taking home a cool $3,402,337 in remuneration for the financial year.

However, there’ll need to some belt-tightening in the Warburton house, as the figure was markedly down on his 2021-22 salary that was a cool $7,623,157. The decrease due to, among other things, Seven’s fluctuating share price.

His base pay was $1,326,432. The rest was mainly made up of short term incentives ($1,012,500) and performance rights ($2,187,019). His cash payout was $2,389,837.

Interestingly, Warburton’s predecessor, Tim Worner, was on around $2.6 million annually. Warburton replaced Worner in August 2019.

Next on the pay list was Seven’s chief revenue officer, Kurt Burnette, who made $1,895,756 in salary, shares and bonuses for the financial year. That was down from $3,199,437 the year previous.

Other employees in the impressive pay packet range included the company’s CFO, James Howard, who took home $1,276,992 for the year.

Seven’s people and culture officer, Katie McGrath, nabbed $796,218 for the year. While commercial director, Bruce McWilliam, had to settle for $1,668,266.

In total, Seven West Media paid $9,009,570 in executive salaries for the year, down from $16,701,345 from the year previous.
