LiSTNR unites all of SCA’s current audio content, as well as new premium content, in one free app. It comes following three years of development and will offer radio, podcasts, music, and news.

2020 saw a significant increase in Australia’s digital audio consumption as people turned to music, radio, and podcasts for both escapism and information.

LiSTNR is highly-personalised, explicitly built for individual listeners’ routines and preferences. It provides a daily feed of audio and suggests new content using curated recommendations.

It is available through a range of devices, including iOS and Android, CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Assistant and Alexa, and Android TV.

Signed-in users allow the app to provide a large-scale known audience, enabling ad targeting based on demographics and behaviours. Brands will have unique advertising and partnership opportunities as a result.

SCA CEO Grant Blackley said, “LiSTNR will provide a personalised listening experience that easily enables consumers to discover a new world of premier, relevant audio that is live and on-demand.”

“LiSTNR will be a primary generator of listening data, allowing SCA to provide an unrivalled, deep understanding of our audience. We now have the ability to deliver a valuable, targeted audience at scale for advertisers.”

“And this is just the start. LiSTNR will continue to expand its content with the development of new and original premium content, along with exciting partnerships to be announced soon, making [it] the new audio destination for all Australians.”

The app will house SCA’s range of digital content, including more than one hundred podcasts by household names like Hamish Blake, Andy Lee, Tom Tilley, Rosie Waterland, and more. This portfolio will be expanded over the next months. SCA’s library also includes live radio streams, radio podcasts, and digital music stations via the Hit and Triple M networks.

In a LiSTNR exclusive, SCA is introducing fifteen all-new linear music live streaming channels, which span a range of moods and genres. Musician and presenter Linda Marigliano will be leading this, with a new music show called The Spin spotlighting the best new music from around the globe.

LiSTNR will also provide a new on-demand audio News and Info service, including hyper-local News and Sports reports across fifteen regions, a new CrinmeWatch weekly report, and The Locals’ Guide.

The ‘Open Your Ears’ marketing campaign launches nationally next week.
