Russian television reporter Maria Ryabova is the latest journo to forget the number one rule of any live broadcast – remember to pay attention.
Ryabova was supposed to be doing a live piece-to-camera in the freezing cold city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Sakhalin Oblast, to commemorate the country’s Victory Day Celebrations.
Sadly, for Ryabova the cameras zoomed in while she was only in her rehearsal stage.
In the background, her producer screams, “Take off your coat! Throw it on the ground!” before she hurls the garment into a nearby bush, gains her composure and launches into her report. Check it out below:
Poor Ryabova’s mishap is not dissimilar to our very own Natasha Exelby, who gained nationwide attention in April last year after she was caught twiddling a pen while reading the 24-hour news for the ABC. Exelby was immediately taken off air for her three-second blunder and never worked for the public broadcaster again.
