The Royals’ Sam Butcher Joins Think HQ As Strategist

Communications agency Think HQ has announced the appointment of Sam Butcher to the new role of strategist.

Butcher moves to Think HQ from The Royals. His appointment follows recent hires including Red Agency founder Neil Travers, former Grey Worldwide MD Jane Emery and DDB London art director Gaspar Kovacs.

Butcher spent several years at The Royals and has worked on projects including World Vision’s 40Hour Famine and Christmas fundraising campaigns, 100 Story Building’s ‘100 Story Sale’, and the agency’s proactive project, ‘Say No to No’.

Previously, Butcher held the role of communications director at the Oaktree Foundation, and is founder and executive director of Road to Refuge.

Think HQ founder Jen Sharpe said: “Sam’s appointment brings together our growing and diverse range of talents and communications offerings.

“Think HQ is growing quickly, and strategy is an essential part of the mix as we digest briefs across PR, advertising and digital. Sam is a great fit for us, given our shared focus on values as a guiding force.”

Commenting on his appointment, Butcher said: “I’ve always identified as a cause communications specialist, and the opportunity to join values led agency Think HQ felt like a natural fit.”

Butcher’s appointment follows new clients wins for Think HQ, including the Churchill Trust, Department of Social Services, Council on the Ageing NSW, Metropolitan Fire Brigade, along with returning clients Small Business Victoria, the Organ and Tissue Authority and the Scanlon Foundation.
