RMIT is delighted to welcome Ms Stefanie DiGianvincenzo as the newly appointed Chair of the Advertising Industry Advisory Committee.
In this role, she will head a team of leading industry professionals as they advise and inform the Bachelor and Master of Advertising degree programs at RMIT.
Not only is DiGianvincenzo RMIT Advertising alumni herself, but she has worked in Melbourne and London agencies (DDB, Wunderman, AKQA, Clemenger), led the Nike Women Global account, co-founded and run Melbourne’s first copywriting collective (Apostrophe), worked client side as the Global Creative Director at the Cotton On Group, and is currently Strategic Director and Curator on Rare – Google’s global diversity and inclusion platform for the creative industries.
As chair, DiGianvincenzo brings creativity, vision and enormous energy to the advisory committee, staff, students and programs at RMIT.
She also brings her global connections and a passion for diversity through the incredible Rare program she co-founded in 2017.
“It’s an absolute honour to be stepping into the role of chair for a committee that helps to shape the same program that kick-started my own career in the creative industries. Esther has done an excellent job in the role for the past years – and I certainly have big shoes to fill,” said DiGianvincenzo.
“It is the strength of her background and her vision for fostering diversity and developing creativity in advertising practitioners and leaders of the future, that make Stef such an exciting appointment as the new chair” according to immediate past chair Esther Clerehan, who is stepping down after four years, but will remain on the committee.
The current RMIT Advertising Industry Advisory Committee members are Stefanie DiGianvincenzo (Google/Rare), Esther Clerehan (Clerehan) Michael Titshall (R/GA), Carmela Soares (Facebook), Stanley Johnson (Creative Consultant), Daniel Pizzato (Leo Burnett), Eaon Pritchard (UM), Naomi Johnston (Jumbla), Michael Skarbek (Creative Consultant) Julie Bilby (RMIT), Lucas Parker (RMIT), Scott Brook (RMIT), Fiona Finn (RMIT).
In 2018, the Advertising programs and IAC received the Media and Communication Dean’s Award for Industry Engagement, in large a recognition for Pitch Night’s success in showcasing graduates to industry every year.
